How to Play City Takeover

In City Takeover, you are the blue team and your mission is to capture buildings and expand your population while competing against the red team, your enemy. There are other colors on the board such as yellow and green, who also pose a danger to building your empire.

You start with one building, where your population slowly grows. The goal is to capture neutral (gray) or enemy (red) buildings by sending your population to them to destroy their layers of building and rebuild in your blue. You can send your population to them if you latch onto their building, forming a path from you to them. One of your buildings can form multiple paths, so you are not limited to just one.

Creating paths with triangle buildings is best done towards enemy buildings. Triangles destroy enemy buildings at a faster speed.

Creating paths with circular buildings is best done towards your own weaker buildings. Circular buildings build your own structures at a faster speed.

If you outnumber the enemy or neutral building’s occupants, you take control and increase your population further. Strategy is key—you need to balance growing your population and capturing new buildings while avoiding stronger enemy buildings. As the game progresses, obstacles like walls add complexity, forcing you to plan your attacks wisely.

The paths you create are also crucial in fortifying your buildings. Link blue buildings to blue buildings as much as possible to strengthen your community.

Tip

Capture as many buildings as early as possible. The key to winning is capturing as many buildings as possible at the start to grow your population faster than your opponents.

Making the right connections is key! Circular buildings help heal allied buildings faster, while triangular buildings deal more damage to enemy structures. Use them strategically to gain an advantage in battle.

You can "freeze" your opponent's time, which gives you an advantage. You will need to watch an ad to do so, but it is worth it in the more challenging rounds.
